4. Charter Renewal Process - New Kingsley’s charter will need to be rewritten to meet new state charter requirements. The new requirements are so different that the renewal should be considered a ‘start from scratch’ effort. We must decide: – Are we willing to put in the time and effort, now and moving forward, in exchange for potential of MUCH greater flexibility? – Do we request an extension now to give time for DCSD definition of successful petitions? (if so, due by March 15 th ) – Should we let our charter lapse and try to start from scratch in 2015-16 cycle? DeKalb may have declared they will be a Charter system and Kingsley will have to present a strategic plan any way
