Days – arrival @ Birkenau – transferred to Auschwitz – Block 17 – few weeks – taken to Buna

7 Allusions P. 17 “It was like a page torn from a book, a historical novel, perhaps, dealing with the captivity in Babylon or the Spanish Inquisition.” p. 45 Job ~600 BC Jews were captive in Babylonia and Jerusalem destroyed 1400-1500’s – Catholic Church – convert or leave Job – was wealthy, then lost everything as a test. He doesn’t curse God, just the day he was born. God rewards him.
