Nuclear Engineer (job description) Nuclear engineers design the equipment and create the operating procedures used in nuclear power plants. Many also operate the machinery that monitors nuclear power and find methods to safely handle and dispose of nuclear waste.

Characteristics (nuclear engineer) Values- They care about making sure all of the equipment is working. They care about the other workers safety. Tasks and responsibilities- Design and develop nuclear equipment such as reactor cores, radiation shielding, and associated instrumentation and control mechanisms. Working with people ad things- a nuclear engineer designs and oversees the construction and operation of the nuclear reactors and power plants and nuclear fuels reprocessing and reclamation systems. Work Environment- Are very large and you work on a nuclear power plant. Working hours- 50 hours per week and 72 when the plant is shut down for refueling or maintenance 72 hours is all the federal government allow. Aptitudes and abilities- You need to be good at math. College Algebra Geometry Trigonometry Calculus. Education and training- Bachelors degree in engineer. Salary and benefits- Low End Salary: $56,587/yr Median Salary: $90,220/yr High End Salary: $147,670/yr Career outlook- this job would be great for me id be in middle class or upper middle class.

Lifestyle/living goals I’d have a pretty great lifestyle with the high end and median salary. But with the low end salary I think I’d have pretty hard time.

Location There are plenty of nuclear power plants in the USA and I can move and work or stay and work. But I'm really interested working in a different state other than Michigan.

Career cluster This job falls under scientific research and engineering. Similar jobs are mathematician marine biologist, ocean technician, electric engineer.

Architect (Description) Architects design buildings and other structures. In addition to considering the way these buildings and structures look, they also make sure they are functional, safe, economical and suit the needs of the people who use them.

Characteristics Values- they have to care about making sturdy buildings so they wont collapse. Tasks and responsibilities- Prepare information regarding design, structure specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time. Consult with client to determine functional and spatial requirements of structure. Direct activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents. Plan layout of project. Prepare contract documents for building contractors. Prepare scale drawings. Working with people and thing- in this job you have to work with people and things you have to go to the construction sites and make sure the build is going well. Work environment- a office and a construction site. Aptitude and abilities- you need to be able to design and you need to know what space is. Education and training-Prospective architects must complete a professional degree program that is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board in order to become licensed in most states. High school graduates who want to become an architect may enroll in a Bachelor of Architecture. salary and benefits- the average salary is $73,090 Career outlook- this job would okay id be anywhere from low middle class or upper middle class.

Life style goals The salary matches my life style quite well I would be able to afford a nice house and a car but id live in the neighborhood like the suburbs.

Location Id have to move to California, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania. Id like to find a place close to home but the options either on the east or west coast.

Career clusters This falls under architecture and construction. It is similar to contractor and building inspector.
