6. Fauna Toyon Tree The Toyon tree’s berries are poisonous unless they are cooked. When the branches are burned they give off a poisonous smoke. The natives used it to make the boys into men.

7. Fauna Bull Kelp Bull kelp can grow up to six feet a day. The air sack is bigger than a baseball. It is more sturdy than regular kelp.

15. Summary During my time at Catalina I learned a lot about all kinds of animals and things that will hurt them like DDT. Also when at Catalina we got to look inside a squid and learn a lot about them. I also got to go snorkeling and see animals in their natural habitat and during kayaking I got to see a Grate Blue Haring. During Catalina I learned a lot about the Catalina animals and the environment.
