How can we describe the culture of ancient Rome? Warm up: copy the following notes Trade was very successful in the empire (trade prospered!!) -- largely because of the huge network of roads the Romans built. In addition, the government charged zero taxes on trade within the empire in order to keep a steady supply of diverse goods flowing.

How can we describe the culture of ancient Rome? You will be divided into 3 groups. Each group will have a research focus (religion, social norms, or innovations) of Roman during the time period 500- 100 BC. Each group will need to answer the prompts for their assigned topic. The topics and prompts will be handed out to you now. You will have 25 minutes to answer the prompts.

How can we describe the culture of ancient Rome? Religion: 1. What type of religion did the Romans follow? 2. What were some of the traditions or ways to worship in their religion? Where did they practice their religion? Social Norms: 1. Describe a common Roman city. 2. Describe some daily activities of a Roman. 3. Describe some buildings or places that Romans may visit. Innovations: 1. Describe an architectural innovation. 2. Describe innovations related to entertainment. 3. Describe innovations that were used daily by citizens.

How can we describe the culture of ancient Rome? Now, trim and glue the teacher notes onto page 17. As groups present their findings, we will read over that section of the notes, then you will add any new information to that section of the notes.

How can we describe the culture of ancient Rome? Your turn! “Scene of Roman Culture” On page 16 students will create a scene that includes at minimum one aspect of each letter in PERSI as noted on the teacher directed page. The scene must be neat and colored appropriately.
