7. What’s the new National Curriculum all about? The new curriculum is concise and sets out only the core knowledge that pupils should acquire. It states that pupils need to be ‘ready for the next level of their learning at secondary school’. The new curriculum does not specify approaches to teaching nor does it explain how to put the content into a teaching and learning sequence.
