4. Environment/Landscape The Tlingit tribe lived on the narrow mainland coast, islands, bays, and fjords of southeast Alaska to Washington State. The heavy rain creates a luxurious rainforest environment and a temperate climate. Where they live provides one of the richest maritime environments in the world. Dense evergreen forests are immediately behind the narrow beach in southwest Alaska. Snow-capped mountains, blue oceans, rushing rivers, and green forests.
