GENESIS Chapter 19:1-29 LOT – SAVED SOUL, WASTED LIFE I.Introduction A.Abraham in the doorway of his tent.

1.Three men show up out of nowhere. a) Abraham excited they are there. 2.Sarah hears them promise a son. a) “Is anything to difficult for the Lord?” (1) Answer is, “No.”

3.The three head towards Sodom. a) COULD the Lord be unfair? b) The Lord “allows” Abraham to question Him. c) GOD IS FAIR. B.Angels’ visit to Sodom.

II. Genesis 19:1 A.3 angels at Abraham’s and only 2 here. 1.3 rd angel the Lord Himself. B.Lot an example of “saved soul – wasted life.”

1.2Peter 2:4-9 2.Lot chose what he thought was best? a) Proverbs 14:12 b) Lot’s decision “killed” his family. (1) Now a political leader.

III. Genesis 19:2-3 A.Lot begs them to spend the night at his house. 1.Lot knows they will not be safe in the city. a) Lot puts on a feast for them. IV. Genesis 19:4-5

A.Glimpse of how perverted town was. 1.Demanded Lot give these guys to them. a) Primary sin Sodom being judged for! (1) God has not changed His mind, society has.

V. Genesis 19:6-9 A.Heavy price to pay. 1.Act of honor, or of cowardice? a) Horrible place to be in! b) Young ladies not at risk!

VI. Genesis 19:10-11 A.Lots and family in greater danger! VII. Genesis 19:12-14 A.Sons-in-laws thought he was joking.

1. Years of compromise ruined his witness. VIII. Genesis 19:15-23 A.His relationship with the Lord = “hesitation!” 1.Angels had to drag them out of the city!

1.Going to stop study here. a) Lot’s “saved soul – wasted life” attitude will cost him more.
