2.  Brainstorm your ideas  Is there someone who’s been in your situation before?  Begin with the end  What do you want to have to show for yourself?  Why are you doing what you want to do?

3.  Create small, manageable tasks  Can be individual tasks  Can be time-based tasks  Work on introduction of paper  Work on first idea for 10 minutes

4.  How long will each step take?  If your steps were vague, when do you want them defined by?  Timelines are flexible, but not unimportant!

5.  The only way to see any progress is to start

6.  Keep track of your progress  Be honest – are you on track?  Unexpected vs unprioritized

7.  This is not a one-time process – go back and repeat steps 1-6  Redefine your goal as you learn more by working on it  Adjust your timeline as necessary

8.  What is a goal you have?  Can be related to Kappas, school, hobbies, anything you want to do  Example: if you need to write a paper, your goal would be to write a paper with a certain topic.  Write down what you want to accomplish.

9.  Take your previous goal and break it down into several manageable steps.

10.  Now take 5 minutes and create a timeline for your project.  Example:  Write introduction by February 2 nd  Solidify topic and points by February 8 th  Finish rough draft by February 16th
