Quito is the capital city of Ecuador!!!...Ecuador is one the smallest country in South America. The population in Ecuador is 14,573,101.

Ecuador also has the distinction of having the highest deforestation rate and worst environmental record in South America. Oil exploration, logging, and road building have had a disastrous impact on Ecuador's primary rainforests, which now cover less than 15 percent of the country's land mass.

Quito's altitude, at 2820 M. Quito is almost twice as high as Denver, Colorado. Though because it sits only 25 kilometres from the Equator, Quito does not suffer through long winters like the Mile High City. On the contrary, Ecuador's capital enjoys mild days and cool nights almost year- round. The climate in the Andes varies according to the altitude and the time of the year. In Quito the temperature ranges from 7 degrees C at night to 26 C at noon, and averages 15 C.

Among the reptiles are large predators such as the anaconda and the caiman plus lizards, iguanas, geckos and tortoises. There are hundreds of birds including parrots, macaws, the harpy eagle and the primitive hoatzin plus colourful tanagers. Mammals are seldom seem but include ocelots, jaguars, anteaters, sloths, river dolphins and several species of monkeys.

Ecuador Food mainly includes a great variety of fruits and vegetables, as there are plenty of them. Ecuador is greatly recognized for its exotic fruits, high quality fish and Seafood and the innumerable varieties of Andean potatoes. All over the country, you will find a wide frequency of national and regional dishes, which include lemon marinated shrimp, toasted corn and patties stuffed with minced spicy meat
