www.jst.umn.edu Laser Pointer Safety Emit infrared light in addition to visible light. – A 50 mW laser can immediately cause permanent eye injury. – A 200 mW laser can cause permanent eye damage in less than the time it takes to blink, even from 100 yards away. Lasers are labeled.
