1 Essential Question of the Day
[Answer the question below using specific evidence for support] Why did the Framers (Founding Fathers) make it so difficult to amend [change] the U.S. Constitution?

2 Constitutional Amendment Process
The Founding Fathers made it difficult to change the Constitution. Why? To force citizens and lawmakers to carefully consider the potential impact of change on the country The Constitution provides two paths to Amending it.

3 Constitutional Amendment Cartoon Strip
Select any six [6] of the following Constitutional Amendments [changes/additions] to create a cartoon strip about. I recommend choosing the five you find the most interesting to you. The cartoon strip must have a minimum of six (6) complete panels. 13th Amendment-Anti-Slavery [forbids slavery in the U.S. for any reason] 14th Amendment-Due Process and Equal Protection Clause [this supposedly prevents discrimination against Americans. 15th Amendment-Right to vote cannot be deprived based on race, color or previous slavery 16th Amendment-Income Tax [tax on money people earn] 18th Amendment-Prohibited making, having, selling and using drinking alcohol 19th Amendment-Right of women to vote 21stAmendment-Repealed [ended] prohibition against drinking alcohol which was the 18th Amendment. 22nd Amendment-Limit of 2 four year terms for the president 26th Amendment-Right to vote for U.S. citizens 18 years and older. Read the amendment [change/addition] carefully and decide what you believe it means [be sure to ask me any questions if you need help]. Create an eight (8) panel cartoon strip describing situations or events that would have caused the need to create these amendments [change/addition] to the Constitution.
