Capella University Founded in 1993 Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Mission: “…extend access to high quality bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and certificate programs for adults who seek to maximize their personal and professional potential” Within the Capella University crest is the Latin motto, petere sapientiam, meaning "to seek knowledge." This motto was chosen by the university's founders for the way it epitomizes the institution's philosophy of learning as a continuous, active process.
