Thesis Statement 4 Explanatory Question - requires you to explain an idea/topic to the reader in the order you’ll be presenting it in your writing 4 Sample: The central conflict in Roll of Thunder is man versus society. In the novel, the Logans must deal with racism, the threat of losing their land, and find a means to protect their children.
