The Writing Test A Full Essay Response -Plan Sheet -Draft Booklet -Final Copy Paragraph Responses Paragraph Editing / Corrections Multiple Choice Grammar Questions

The Essay / Extended Response Requires an Intro., 2-3 body paragraphs and a conclusion. All body paragraphs should be PEAEA. Evidence is probably from your own experience.

The Essay… Example prompt: Should students be required to have a job or community service before graduating high school. Thesis: Student should have to have a job because it teaches responsibility and ethics. Body Paragraph about Responsibility Body Paragraph about Ethics

Essay… You have to plan on the planning page. A web, an outline…whatever you like. Don’t worry a ton about the draft. Do your best—spelling, handwriting, etc.—in the final copy.

Paragraph Responses Have a prompt and a series of lines. Look like this: CSAP Writing D irections: In the space provided, write a response to the following questions. If you need more space, you may use the next page. Describe a significant person in your life. What makes them so special?

Paragraph Responses Use PEAEA paragraph format. Answer the prompt first with a complete sentence. You probably will need 2-3 stories from your experience as support.
