Directions 1. You will watch a video on Roman Cities. This video is part cartoon and part “real life”. The video will show you how Roman cities were made and the components each city had. – A side part will emphasize the struggles Romans and conquered people had under Roman control. – The conquered people are the Celts living in Gaul (France) and the scary looking people are called Druids, priests to Celtic people. 2. As you watch the video and learn how Roman cities were made – design your own Roman city – on graph paper. – Follow Roman City rules – Include at least 3 geographic features in or around your city. – Use a minimum of 5 different components a city would have…draw and label them in your Roman City FYI = you may have more than 5 parts and you may have several of the same items. Example, you may wish to have several arenas, theaters, baths, etc….but again, you must have at least 5 different components in your city. – Name your Roman City – Color your Roman City – Write a two paragraph (5 to 7 sentences) explanation on your Roman City. Be sure to explain the following: How did geography effect the location and development of your city? What components did you add to make your city Roman? How will these components make your city prosperous or successful?

A note from Ms. Gregory. The video is a total of 55 minutes. You will need to wait about 10 minutes into the video before you begin designing your city. Once you see how basic cities began to form – then you may begin the layout of your city. Feel free to make changes as needed. Once the video ends…..continue working on the city. Don’t forget to follow all directions. This info is already on my wikipage. I hope you enjoy! Have a great day!
