Shutter Speed Speed at which the film or sensor is exposed to light Usually a fraction 1/250 = 1 250 th of a second

Aperture The size of the opening of the lens Tricky because the numbers are opposite of what they should be –F4 allows more light than F22 Each F-stop is equal to ½ of the previous F-stop -F4 to F5.6 allows twice as much light in

Aperture & Depth of Field Depth of field – how much of the image will be in focus –Low depth = closest object is in focus –High depth = most of the image is in focus –Low aperture = Low field –High aperture = High field

ISO Think of ISO settings as worker bees –ISO 100 = 100 worker bees –ISO 200 = 200 worker bees The worker bees gather the light The more bees you have slower the shutter speed necessary but the more grainy the picture will be
