Florist utility wire (green wire) Wire diameter is measured in gauges. The chart provides a comparison of thickness. Note that the larger the gauge, the thinner the wire. The most common wire used by florists is round wire that is 18 inches long. Wire is also available by the spool. Thinner wire is used for corsage work and delicate flowers.
