1 ISACA London Chapter Financial Statements for the Year Ended 31 December 2000 Treasurer’s Presentation

2 Chapter Finances - Profits  Year of development  Deliberate policy to cover costs of servicing members  Improvement in positive effect of other income  Further enhancements to member benefits

3 Chapter Finances - Subscriptions  Absorbed much of the increase in International portion of subscriptions  Planned to achieve break even on subscriptions, retaining £35 per member  Remittances direct to USA continue to be encouraged

4 Other Income  Four one day workshops in 2000  CISA Review Course run for member benefit  Interest income increase as a result of close management of cash balances

5 Datawatch and Mailshot  More investment in publications –seen as key member benefit –major enhancement to Datawatch quality –based on hard work –continues to be award winning –provided to Northern and Central Chapters, and from 2001 Ireland too

6 Other Costs  Meeting costs –continue to be main benefit of membership –one-off benefit from continuing support  Committee expenses  International committee expenses  SIGs/Research  Advertising and publicity  Library

7 Postage and Administration  Single largest “cost” to Chapter  Largest part remains postage  Acquisition of new franking machine  Cost of administrator  Sub contract rate increased to £7 per hour from July 2000

8 Conclusion  Membership fees set to cover costs of providing member benefits  Other revenue contributes to Chapter finances

9 Plans for 2000 and onwards  Reserve policy agreed at Awayday of 1x expenditure  Maintain enhanced member benefits –Datawatch –training –meetings –research  Plan to maintain near break even on membership subscriptions  Surpassed  Enhanced use of colour  One day workshops  Improved refreshments  Looking for topics  Deficit of £1,000 (5%) –absorbed 2001 $10 increase in US portion 2000 Plans2000/01 Achievements and Plans
