Explanation The introduction of Ebooks presents more chances of competition with libraries. The survival of libraries will depend on their ability to take advantage of Ebook technologies. The shift to Ebooks presents a variety of challenges for libraries and it is not entirely clear how these challenges will be faced.

Pros of Ebooks Instant delivery of purchased books Lower production costs could lead to lower prices Eco-friendly
4
Cons of Ebooks Cost of devices Requires new policy procedures Most purchases require a credit card Availability of titles Hard to preserve texts in digital form.

Personal Examples Katie Owns a Kindle Kindles give easier access to books. Libraries don’t always have the books I need. Book requests take longer time. Rebecca Libraries are public access to everyone in community. Gives community members access to books where otherwise they could not. Child programs in library. Camielle Libraries have books on broad topics. Topics are more specific for research papers. Ebooks give more detailed information on topics.
