3 Introduction Problem Statement: Design and build a device that will transfer either a cart or ball for a duration of about 15 seconds. AKA a 15 second long rollercoaster

4 Design Base Made of PVC Pipes Weighted down by sand bags Track Clear plastic hose Filled with blue water Sealed off by valves “Cart” Ball bearing painted neon orange Destination PVC pipes taped to the floor

6 How it works The ball is released at the top of the hose and continues down the tube until it reaches the end Without the water, we tested it and it ran through in roughly 1.5 seconds The water acts as a drag force to slow down the ball during the decent

7 Energy Conversion Initial Potential Energy = Final Kinetic Energy + Energy Loss Due to Water The energy loss due to water is huge, which makes the time difference with and without water so large
