1 Apple Configurator 2 What’s new in 2.0

2 Know before you go. System Requirements: El Capitan, iOS 9, Configurator 2. Volume Purchase Program recommended. Migrate redemption codes to managed distribution. Apps must be Device Assignable. All data is transferred through USB.

3 Migration from Configurator 1 to Configurator 2
To get started, first backup your computer. I’d recommend a clone or Time Machine (we use Time Machine). Once you have a solid backup, open the Configurator 2 app & Click Next to get started. Don’t delete Configurator 1 prior to the migration Backup computer Clone with Certs, Profiles, and Databases

4 Migration from Configurator 1 to Configurator 2
Click Next to get started Select the migration data you would like to migrate

5 Migration from Configurator 1 to Configurator 2
Select Backups (if needed) Configurations (prepared) will convert to Blueprints

6 Migration from Configurator 1 to Configurator 2
Click Next if all looks well Choose where to store data

7 Migration from Configurator 1 to Configurator 2
If all goes well you will see this. Welcome to Configurator 2!

8 Getting Started… qwerks
Remove and delete all previous profiles from the iPads. If you set up restrictions in Configurator 1 you will not be able to install apps in Configurator 2. Actions > Remove > Profiles Sign in and authenticate to VPP/iTunes. Store > Sign In If using VPP, repurchase all free apps previously bought in iTunes.

Blueprints allow you to record actions that can be applied to iOS devices. Blueprints will let you setup a template of settings, options, apps, and restore data, and then apply those Blueprints to devices selected in Configurator 2. Configurations for groups (teachers, students) Group apps or Single App Mode Device Restore
