5 Boys Youth Lacrosse Program Announcements Combine Spring/Summer Youth Boys Lacrosse into Single Program/Registration (same as 2015) – Participating in the YLM Spring ‘Pre Season’ and YLM Summer season (same as 2015) – Offering combined Spring/Summer Registration (discounted price) and separate Summer registration options U11/U13/U15 Winter Box leagues – registration is still open

6 Boys Youth Spring Lacrosse Practices begin in April (weather permitting) – Early practices at Chaska Community Center All age groups (U9/U11/U13/U15) Games begin in early May – 3 weekend ‘doubleheaders’ (either Saturday or Sunday) – 6 games Balanced teams at all age groups All teams within an age group will practice at same time/location Spring play will influence summer A/B placement – Spring participation is NOT a requirement for Summer ‘A’ team eligibility

7 Boys Youth Summer Lacrosse Practices begin in late May (following the conclusion of the Spring season) All age groups (U9/U11/U13/U15) A/B splits at U11/U13/U15 (balanced teams at U9) – A/B tryouts will occur in mid May – Spring play will be a factor in A/B team selection Games begin in early June and conclude in late July – 10 game season (U11/U13/U15) / 6 game season for U9 – Playoffs/State Tournament for U11-A/U13/U15 (state tournament is July 30/31 Season-ending jamboree for U9/U11-B All teams will participate in one mid-season weekend tournament – Included in registration fee – U15-A team typically travels (Wisconsin/Illinois)

8 Summer Evaluations Summer Evaluations occur in May Two evaluation sessions per age group – Players are STRONGLY encouraged to attend BOTH sessions Evaluation Team – High School Coaches – Board Members who do not have players participating in that age group – Experienced Youth Coaches who do not have players participating in that age group – Independent Lacrosse Training Organization (possibility) Spring Coaches Post-Season Evaluations are considered U9 Summer Team formation – TBD – In 2015, the spring U9 coaches decided to keep the same teams going into the summer season

9 Age Group Breakdown U15 –Birthday between 9/01/2000 and 08/31/2002 – 9 th graders are prohibited from playing – C3 policy U13 – Birthday between 09/01/2002 and 08/31/2004 U11 – Birthday between 09/01/2004 and 08/31/2006 U9 – Birthday on or after 09/01/2006 Adopted by both MBSLA (Minnesota Boys Scholastic Lacrosse Association) and YLM (Youth League of Minnesota)

10 Program Costs U11/U13/U15 – Spring/Summer Combined Option - $380 + $50 volunteer fee (returned at the end of the season if volunteer commitment is satisfied) – Summer Only Option - $290+ $50 volunteer fee (returned at the end of the season if volunteer commitment is satisfied) U9 – Spring/Summer Combined Option - $210 + $50 volunteer fee (returned at the end of the season if volunteer commitment is satisfied) – Summer Only Option - $140 + $50 volunteer fee (returned at the end of the season if volunteer commitment is satisfied) Reduction from 2015 fees

11 Player Fee Structure YLM League Fees Tournament Fees High School / College Coaches Player Uniforms Field Time Equipment Replacement – Lax Balls (1500) – Goals (4) & Nets (10) – Coaches Bags (Goalie Gear, First Aid, Cones, Pinnies, Repair Kits, etc) – Field and Scorer’s Table Supplies (Scoreboards, Clocks, Horns, etc) Capital Improvements – Fencing at Chan Upper Turf and Chaska High School

12 Uniforms Included in registration fees (Summer Only, and Spring/Summer Combo) – Reversible jersey (similar to last year) – Shooter shirts (extra cost last year) – Shorts (added) – Communication will be coming regarding sizes A GoogleDoc will be sent to players – Sample jerseys are available tonight Sizing can be done at Lavin Lacrosse (Chanhassen – Market Square) – Misc. apparel on sale tonight

13 Preliminary Practice Schedule Spring/Summer practices will begin in late April (weather permitting) – Practices will be held at CCC/Chanhassen HS Upper Turf/Chaska High School/Victoria/Clover Most likely that age groups will practice together (e.g. all U13 will practice on Tues/Thurs from 7:00-8:00) Summer practices will being in late May (following the conclusion of the Spring season

14 Equipment & Uniforms Equipment used is the same for all age groups Helmet (lacrosse) with a mouth piece Shoulder pads Elbow pads Gloves Cup Lacrosse stick Rib pads are recommended but not mandatory Uniforms – jersey provided for summer players

15 Coaches We need coaches!!!! – No lacrosse experience needed – We provide coach training (through 6x6 lacrosse) – Great way to learn about the game – Satisfies the volunteer requirement
