4. What is a verb? Verb is a word that shows action or expresses the state of being Am, are, is, was, were, be, being, and been are all forms of the verb be 3 kinds of verbs: action verbs, linking verbs, and helping verbs

5. Action Verb Action verb: expresses action, something that a person, animal, force of nature, or thing can do Examples: run, hop, skip, sleep, talk, jump, snore Sean ate pizza.

6. Linking Verbs Linking verb: Does not express action; joins the SUBJECT of the VERB to additional information about the subject. Examples: am, is, was, be, do, have Mike and Kira are happy.

7. Helping Verb Helping verb: Have no meaning on their own; necessary for grammatical structure of sentence but do not tell us much alone Examples: am, is, are, as were Emma was running in the race.
