Paper figures can be an effective tool for: - Exploring an individual’s role in a larger history or story - Distinguishing how perspectives change depending upon social status and power - Identifying the symbols, cultural context, and timeframe which make each person’s story unique - Determining visual markers such as wardrobe, props, facial expressions and tone to create an authentic likeness, thus making the figure more accessible
