THE CALL TO WORSHIP (Pastor / CONGREGATION) How deep and profound is the wisdom and knowledge possessed by God; HIS DECISIONS CANNOT BE COMPREHENDED BY MORTAL BEINGS Nor can His paths be traced by human ways; NO ONE CAN KNOW THE MIND OF THE LORD
8
He does not need our advice; GOD DOES NOT NEED ANYTHING WE HAVE for all we possess already belongs to Him; EVERYTHING WAS CREATED BY HIM and all things exist through Him and for Him. TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOREVER AND EVER – AMEN! [ Based on Romans 11:33-36 ]
9
**THE OPENING HYMN: #157 THE LOVE OF GOD [ All who are able please stand ]
10
The love of God is greater far (1) than tongue or pen can ever tell; It goes beyond the highest star and reaches to the lowest hell; The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled and pardoned from His sin. O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forever more endure- The saints’ and angels’ song.
11
When years of time shall pass away (2) And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall, When men who here refuse to pray, on rocks and hills and mountains call, God’s love so sure shall still endure, All measureless and strong; Redeeming grace to Adam’s race- The saints’ and angels’ song. O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forever more endure- The saints’ and angels’ song.
12
Could we with ink the oceans fill (3) and were the skies of parchment made, Were every stalk on earth a quill And every man a scribe by trade, To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry; Nor could the scroll contain the whole, Tho’ stretched from sky to sky. O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forever more endure- The saints’ and angels’ song.

SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON Psalm 140:6-7a I say to the Lord, “You are my God. Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy. Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer, you shield my soul in the day of trouble.”

THE HEBREW SCRIPTURE: Psalm 32:1-11 Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the person whose sin the Lord does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit. When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not cover up my iniquity.
19
I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord" ‑‑ and You forgave the guilt of my sin. Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to You while you may be found; Surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him. You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.
20
Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord's unfailing love surrounds the person who trusts in Him. Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; Sing, all you who are upright in heart!
21
THE NEW TESTAMENT SCRIPTURE Matthew 6:5-15 When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
22
This, then, is how you should pray: (KJV) Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For if you forgive others when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Jesus Loves Me #185 Jesus loves me! This I know, For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong; They are weak, but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
24
Jesus loves me! He who died Heaven’s gate to open wide; He will wash away my sin, Let His little child come in. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
25
Jesus loves me! He will stay Close beside me all the way; He’s prepared a home for me And someday His face I’ll see. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
