Part B : Marco-Listening Culture Notes: 2. I waited for my turn for about two hours. Miss Smith had to wait for her chance to see the doctor for a long time. This, however, seems quite unusual. In the West, every citizen is registered with a medical practitioner. Normally, you make an appointment with the doctor’s office for you to see your doctor at a certain time. You may have to wait for some time but not as long as two hours. But if you fail to make an appointment beforehand, then you may have to wait for a long time.

Part B : Marco-Listening 2. e-mail short for “Electronic Mail”, which is a system for sending and receiving messages electronically via the Internet. It is much more convenient and economical, and much faster to send a message or document by e-mail than by conventional mail. To send someone an e-mail, however, it is very important for you to type in the recipient’s e-mail address correctly. If not, the computer failing to recognize the mailing address, will automatically send you a message informing you that the mail could not be delivered. Culture Notes:

Part B : Marco-Listening 3. Thank you for the trouble. Thank you for the efforts you have made to do all these things. This sentence is a polite way to express your gratitude to someone when she/he has done (or is going to do) something for you. The answer is usually “No trouble at all.” Culture Notes:
