The Night Before the Battle… Wellington stayed indoors overnight (it was raining heavily) Napoleons troops slept outdoors in the rain Blucher was making his way towards Brussels to help Wellington

Rain, rain, go away Heavy rain caused Napoleon to delay his attack in the morning This allowed allied reinforcements (Marshal Gebhard von Blucher) to arrive

The Morning of the Battle Wellington blocks the road to Brussels. He is outnumbered Puts his troops behind a ridge (very defensive – uphill incline and good visual)

The Battle Begins… After waiting for the ground to dry a bit, Napoleon launches a small attack on a nearby farm to distract some British troops At the same time he sends most of his infantry towards Brussels

Blucher Arrives… Blucher and the Prussians arrive to reinforce Wellingtons troops Now Napoleon is fighting on three fronts! This quickly leads to Napoleon being forces to retreat and surrender
