2. Early Life Born on February 22, 1732 Born in Westmore County, Virginia. First born in his family. His siblings are John, Samuel, Charles, and Betty. His fathers name is Augistine and his mothers name is Mary Ball but when she died he married Miss. Butler then his dad died.

3. Family In 1759, at age 27, he married Martha Cutis. They had no children together. They lived in Virginia. Martha had 2 kids already. John was one and Martha was another. Martha died a little bit before the revolutionary war John died during the war.

4. Family Still george adopted 2 children.

5. Occupations When he was 17 he was the most accurate surveyor in Virginia. He learned woodcraft and topography. Learned some habits of the indians. He was a general of a militia district at 19. Later, he became a major in the Army.

6. Occupations (continued) He always wanted to be a seaman but his mom wouldn’t let him. He was a commander in chief in the continental army. At 23 he was commander of all virginia troops.

7. Education Had a common english education. He never went to college. He was really good in school at age 9

8. Death and retirement Died on Dec. 14, 1799. His last words were “it is well.” Died at Mount Vernon. He retired In 1783. George had smallpox as a child and his brother died from the disease

9. Death and retirement George got sent home from the war because of a sickness. He finally returned to the war in 1758.

10. The difference he made in America. Was a commander in chief in the army and led the continental army to freedom. He also led weak army’s for 8 years He was the president of the united states

11. How he’s remembered He has a memorial and a town named after him; he even has his own national holiday.
