What is Education for Careers? zEducation for Careers is a career development course designed for students who have opted to pursue a Career Diploma instead of a LA Core 4 Diploma. zEducation for Careers is a required course for these students to graduate from high school. zIt is designed to offer a greater understanding of career paths and to assist them in making meaningful and informed career choices. z The objectives of Education for Careers centers around preparing high school students for a future after high school.

Why is it important? zCareer planning helps you learn about yourself, your skills, your strengths, weaknesses, and your potential fit for a particular career. zHere students learn about the importance of careers, and also learn the basic steps and techniques for preparing for and having a successful career and balanced life. zFinally, you need this credit to graduate!!!

What will I accomplish? zan understanding of your own interests, values, and strengths. zAn understanding of career clusters and how they apply to you. zvaluable career information and job acquisition skills. zdevelop a tentative career path and educational plan.
