THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS By: Nelda G. & Karina M.

1. Define the problem.  We are two teens that are contemplating on whether or not to go to college. We know what we want to do, that is to own our own business. Which school will be the best decision.

2. Identify the choices.  There are so many choices, but which ones to choose. Our top 3 choices are Rice University, Texas A&M, and/or Sam Houston University. All great schools, but we can only go to one, which will be the smart decision?

3. Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each choice  Rice University- advantages: close to home, consistently ranked one of America's best teaching and research universities. And Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University Ranked No. 6 in Nation for Entrepreneurship.  Disadvantages-rice has no disadvantages as we have researched, seem as if every one has the same agreement as to rice university being a great school  Texas A&M- advantages: in college Tx, Mays Business School ranked No. 48. And Texas A&M is ranked #61 in the category National Universities and #22 in the Top Public Schools category.  Texas a&m disadvantage-away from home, and is ranked lower than rice of business in college

4. Choose one choice.  As we have researched on both Rice University and Texas A&M, we have come to the conclusion that Rice University will be the best to go to, aside from being closer to home. Rice University has a higher rank in the school of business than Texas A&M.

5. Act on your choice.  We are still in High school, so we can’t really act on walking into college just yet. But what we can do, is try to raise our GPA higher than what it is now.  And as we work on that, we can apply to other colleges, incase our first choice declines our application, as we work on receiving our diploma.

6. Review your decision.  Like we said on the last slide, we are still in high school. But to review our decision, we say that this decision will be our best one yet. Because of the course we want to take at a school who’s ranking is No. 6 in Nation for Entrepreneurship. And our willingness to be the best at what we are given.
