It is from Mohenjo-daro, late Harrapan culture. Time period is 2300-1750 B.C. It is made of Steatite Height-17.5 cms National Museum of Pakistan, Karachi

Most remarkable sculpture. Small bust depicting a priest-king Face has a carefully barbered beard. Upper lip is shaved Hair tied at the back in a bun Headband Repeated as an armband Eyes were originally inlay

The robe or toga like garment is decorated with trefoil design. The robe falls diagonally across the upper chest. The right shoulder is bare The facial features have thick lips and a broad nose. The nose was damaged during excavation. The ears resemble a two-edged shell with a hole in the centre

It is also one of the very remarkable sculptures of the Indus valley civilization. CONCLUSION Important environmental and natural disasters are the reasons attributed to the demise of this civilization. This culture was finally eclipsed by the new barbarians from the north, who with their chariots, bronze weapons and Vedic religion, brought a vigorous new culture which eventually spread beyond Punjab to the whole of India.
