Steve WormFeb 25, 20082 Meeting Venue We have “Cosener's House” reserved... –Modest conference facilities (60 easily, 80 with effort) –48 rooms, mostly en-suite, also nearby pubs –All 48 reserved on the 13 th, 14 th and 15 th ; 9 rooms reserved on 16 th –Directions now on web (not at RAL lab site) Registration now “enhanced” on the web –Arrival/Departure dates, etc –Please send this info if you have already registered (or re-register) Funding from RAL pays for… –Accommodation for non-UK participants –Lunch Dinner and Breakfast at Coseners –Workshop dinner at Jesus College How many people do we expect?

Steve WormFeb 25, 20083 Purpose of the workshop We should clarify purpose of workshop on the web: “The RAL meeting will mark freezing the SiD global parameters, reviewing first pass detailed subsystem parameters, and beginning the technology selection process for key subsystems. General SiD status and progress will also be reviewed, and new groups interested in learning about SiD and participating in the LOI process, introduced and integrated into our efforts.” Recruitment: Inviting new People from Europe and Asia –We will need introductory talks as a result –Include details of how to get involved, etc –Also show our UK flags and attract the undecided What would you like to see emphasized in the agenda?

Steve WormFeb 25, 20085 Program(me) Details Logistics and timing: –How many days (2.5 nominal)? –What to do Wednesday afternoon? –When to start on Monday (some Europeans will likely travel on Monday morning...?) –Reception Monday, Dinner at Jesus College on Tuesday Parallel sessions: see straw-man agenda –How many in parallel can/should we have? –Get in contact with Working Group Leaders –Only two rooms feasible for parallels (smallest is ~28 people max) –Webex, etc should be possible Opening Session: Still debating speakers, details Local Organizing Committee: –Phil Burrows, Steve Worm, Andrei Nomerotski, Marcel Stanitzki, Joel Goldstein, Mike Tyndel, Paul Dauncey
