The Hindenburg By: Ryan Chmelik
2
The Hindenburg One of the more famous wrecks is the Hindenburg, which burst into flames at the Lakehurst, New Jersey landing site. It was 245 meters long.
3
Hydrogen theory The covering was not the problem. The skin had not burned when the fire reached the top. [top left, next slide.] and even when the ship hit the ground, all of the fabric had not burned. It has not been proved. It’s thought that the hydrogen is the culprit in this theory.
4
This is the Hindenburg disaster.
5
Skin theory Some people thought that the Hindenburg’s skin was painted with thermite, a VERY flammable substance. This ship in the backround is the Hindenburg.
