Science is not… A process that can produce any kind of explanation A process that seeks “truth” A process that attempts to “prove” things A process that is always properly used Scientific theories are NOT “tentative ideas”, “hunches, or “beliefs”

Science is… A repetitive, collaborative, and ongoing process A process that continually questions both existing AND new explanations Scientific theories… Are broader than, and include many testable hypotheses May become the dominant view among scientists Must be able to be modified or replaced in light of new evidence Will NEVER become a law
