2. Goals for Today Be able to describe how DNA & RNA molecules differ from each other. Be able to describe protein synthesis (how proteins are made) Be able to describe the two major steps of protein synthesis (Transcription & Translation) be able to list the molecules & structures involved in each.

3. Question of the Day What is the difference between a codon, and an Anti-codon? Which molecule are they carried on? Codon – Anticodon – Which one carries the recipe, the code for the Amino acid that we look at on our “decoder”?

4. Explain how DNA is like a cookbook- DUE MONDAY Write out our analogy about the cookbook & DNA What are each of the following: Cookbook Original recipe (part of DNA) Person who transcribes the recipe (An enzyme) Transcribed recipe Chef (Who takes the recipe & puts it together?) Person who delivers ingredients to the chef Ingredients Final product
