Term 1 Week 8 Warm Ups
2
Warm Up 9/28/15 1.Graph the function and identify the number of zeros: 2x 3 – 5x 2 + 3x – 2 (Hit the y = ) 2.Identify the expressions that are polynomials (list all and circle the ones that are): √5 x – 1, x 1/3 + 2, -2x 2 + x – 4, √x, |x + 3|, 7 For the ones that are polynomials, name them. 3.Find f(x) – g(x), if f(x) = 3x – 5 and g(x) = - 4x 2 – 3x + 12 (This means (3x – 5) – ( - 4X 2 – 3X + 12)
3
Warm Up 9/29/15 4. Find the product: (2x – 5)(4x 3 – 5x 2 + 2x – 3) 5. Graph the polynomial and determine the number of zeros. Also, write in standard form, identify the leading coefficient, the degree, the number of terms, and name the polynomial. -2x 4 + 3x + 7
4
Warm Up 9/30/15 6. Find the product: (2x – 5) 3 7. Graph the function and determine the number of zeros: f(x) = - 3x 4 + 5 Also, name the polynomial and the leading coefficient.
5
Warm Up 10/1/15 (7 th Period did not do this one) 8.Use Pascal’s Triangle and the Binomial Theorem to expand: (5x – 1) 5 9.Find a(x) – 2(b(x)) if a(x) = 4x 3 – 3 and b(x) = 2x 2 + 3x + 5
6
Warm Up 10/2/15 10. Graph the polynomial. Describe the graph and list the zeros, if any. 6x 3 + x 2 – 5x + 1 11. Expand (3x – 5) 5
