In Australia people are employed in four main industry sectors. Change is occurring in Australia seen through a steady decline in work in the primary and secondary sectors and a rapid expansion in the tertiary and quaternary sectors. There is greater flexibility in the number and timing of working hours, including part-time work, job sharing, temporary work, contract work and videoconferencing. More individuals are self-employed in work such as franchises, freelancing, consulting and home-based industries. These changes have had a major impact on communities including an increase in the size of urban communities, with a decrease in rural communities, an increase in the participation of women in the workforce and the establishment of work-related communities. Cultural Integration Cultural integration can result when communities and governments work together to celebrate diversity, improve community services, meet diverse community needs and address community problems. There are many examples of cultural integration in Australia. For example, the Chinese community has retained its broad identity in many places in Australia, including Epping in Sydney, while still being part of the diverse Australian community
