Kysor Panel Systems Product/ Tools Training

Kysor Basics Section 2

Partition Walls & Top Connections Walls shared by multiple boxes within a unit to minimize wall space Used when walls are same thickness and panel is able to span over sides Used when joint butt up against each other and are the same thickness and/or different finishes on either side

Partition Walls & Top Connections, cont’d Used when walls are different thickness and outside heights must match Used when walls are different thickness and inside heights must match Other connection types are available as non- standard

Spline & Tee Panels Panels used to connect partition walls Attaches partition walls to outer walls Construction will match quoted panels Spline location on walls can be no closer then 1 ½” from edges to start of spline T-Corner and spline corner legs (long side) not to exceed 40” with a minimum of 1 ½” past interior face Can be NSF and Non-NSF PARTITION WALL COOLER/FREEZER WALL

Spline & Tee Panels, cont’d NSF Spline Non-NSF Spline Tells the dimension for each side from center NSF T-Panel Non-NSF T-Panel Tells the dimension of each side of T- Panel

Pits Pits are used to recess the insulated floor panel so it’s surface is level to the adjoining floor surface Pits must be level and square Sometimes pits are deeper to compensate for poor concrete At times floors must be shimmed or leveled with sand

Pits, cont’d Pit depth must be shown on the drawing Descriptions for pits should state the O.A. height A.F.F., then size of the pit (Example: 8’ High A.F.F. With 4” pit) A.F.F. – Above Finished Floor At times our wall panel is used as the concrete form.

Curbs Curbs are used to protect wall panels Curbs can be poured against the wall after they are installed Curbs can be poured prior to panel installation Freezer applications require a breaker strip and a continuous vapor barrier Curbs must be checked by customer prior to manufacturing of panels

Thermal Breaks and Barriers Used to cause a break in material that will transfer temperature when there is a difference in temperature from one side of a wall to the other Common Uses: Columns in freezers Insulated slabs Door Jambs Partition walls

Knee Walls Used when there is a common wall where the cooler is taller than the freezer Tops to counter-sink lags into bottom section prior to knee wall placement Use 1 ½”x1 ½” 14 GA. Galvanized angle and fasten to TRD’s and tops with #14 x 1” Hex Head screws 6” flat trim fastened with #8 x ¾” Hex Head screws to cover seam

Parapet Walls Used when customer wants to conceal their tops Use 1 ½”x1 ½” 14 GA. Angle at top and bottom connections with #14 x 1” Hex Head screws @ 12” O.C. May require conduit bracing depending on the height of panel May require 2”x4” blocking using 3/8”x2” lag bolts depending on height of panel Optional Conduit Bracing Optional Blocking

Butyl & Silicone Butyl Perimeter of wall base Exterior side of all freezer joints Behind termination bar of membrane roof Approximately 15’ per tube Silicone: Perimeter of tops to wall Exterior exposed joints on outdoor boxes Available in white, grey, or clear Outdoor units need a high humidity silicone Approximately 20’ per tube All outdoor units have recessed gasket where exposed to allow silicone in all joints

Freight Options Contract Carrier: Dedicated truck Can set appointment for delivery Use this form for all KPS installed units Trailers are 48’ long Maximum of 4,000 square feet per trailer Rate based on mileage More expensive option If shipment is going to a congested area or where shipping restrictions apply, it may be necessary to ship on a dedicated goose neck truck Motor Freight: Shared truck and product needs to be packaged accordingly. Crating must be included in quote Delivery time can not be guaranteed Trailers are 24’ long Maximum for SINGLE panels is 20’ Maximum for full jobs are 14’ long Maximum square footage is 850-1000 Rate based on weight Buyout Items Included (cost of freight from manufacturer to plant or site is included in cost of buyout) Non-Included (cost of freight from manufacturer to plant or site will be billed to customer separately) 3 rd Party (cost of freight from manufacturer to plant or site will be billed to customer by vendor) Refrigeration freight to plant (1 st destination) is included in the price Steel freight to plant is included in the price Items to include for freight charges from plant to site: Panels Buyout items Refrigeration Steel F.O.B. Factory is KPS Standard
