4. Statistics Say. Approximately 6,000 deaths a year or 18 deaths each day are caused by texting and driving. Texting and driving results in a further half a million injuries per year 2

5. Modern Day teens Over 85% of the teen population own cell phones and state that texting is their primary means of communication. A teen sends an average of 100 texts each day. (An average of 1 every 10 minutes of waking hours) More than one trillion texts were sent worldwide in 2011.
