n / f –Direct Neutron Counting Use technique of cross bombardments 26 Mg + 248 Cm 274 Hs (E*=49) 273 Hs(E*=39.5) 25 Mg + 248 Cm 273 Hs (E*=39.5) Measure pre and (( n )/( tot )) for first chance fission using the Harding-Farley method.

Study of deep inelastic collisions using very n-rich projectiles Systems to study 5A MeV 94 Rb + 92 Mo 5A MeV 94 Rb + 58 Ni Physics “Is the process responsible for N/Z equilibration a collective mode of high frequency or a stochastic random walk relaxation?” (The exchange model would predict a weak dependence of the width of the fragment charge distributions upon the disequilibrium involved in the initial N/Z ratio while the collective model would predict a strong correlation between the average final width of the projectile charge distribution as a function of the initial charge dis-equilibration.) Advantages of RIBs. The use of such beams extends the range of N/Z ratios available for study, and reduces the probability of charged particle emission in the collisions
