4 SCENARIOS ProsCons Scenarios challenges the old way of thinking and promote growth. Considering scenarios can be a time consuming and lengthy process. When futuring techniques are used, individuals become more proactive with their decision making. Gathering all the data necessary to develop lifelike scenarios can be difficult to accomplish. Organizations begin to shift from reactive to proactive modes to anticipate change Sobrero, (2004). In order for scenarios to be effective, the individuals participating must be engaged and using the proper tools. CENTRAL TEXAS COLLEGE CASE STUDY 4 Definition a description of a sequence of events that might possibly occur in the future

Scanning identifies indications of change, but it is monitoring that provides an ongoing review of the effects and impact of the change. Ongoing scanning and monitoring of the environment identifies the direction of issue- based change and the relevant events affecting changes observed Scanning uses the intellectual capacity of social, economic, technology, political, and environmental experts Sobrero (2004).
