Social and Political Equality for White Men The absence of a hereditary aristocracy led the American’s to equal equality. They were based more on there financial status but through that system people could better themselves. Cultural rules and New laws denied the opportunity for women and African Men. The thought of equality gained acceptance which led to voting rights for all citizens.

Republican Motherhood Most republican mothers spent time as homemakers Deliberately limited the size of their families Religious writers argued that women were dangerous sexual temptresses Fight for women's rights

Raising and Educating Republican Children When a father died they would divide the inheritance to its offspring which begun to treat there children equally Parents followed John Locke and other Enlightenment thinkers But the Yeomen and tenant farmers raised there children through the authoritarian method Most children were taught at home, 25% were in private institutions A new generation of reformers, primarily merchants and manufactures influenced higher education and qualified teachers.

Toward a Republican System of Marriage Arranged marriages to promote the prosperity of the family New cultural idea sentimentalism Companionate marriages gave wives true equality of both rank and capitol Women spoke out for their rights in the public
