3
How the world is unequal In this cartoon, the North means the rich countries and the South means the poor countries.
4
How the world is unequal It shows the unequal world because the North uses too much of the resources – more than they need.
5
How the world is unequal The South don’t have enough resources so people can’t have good lives.
6
Why the world is unequal Some countries were poor so they needed to get money from countries in the North. Then they end up with debt. Debt means they have to pay back all the money PLUS INTEREST. DEBT
7
Why the world is unequal War and conflict waste a lot of money because they have to get guns from other countries. They buy guns instead of medicine and other things. WAR AND CONFLICT
8
Why the world is unequal Some people get little money for the things they grow e.g. cocoa and coffee beans. Some years it can be good and some years it can be bad. Things like Fairtrade products give the farmer a more fair pay. TRADE
9
Why the world is unequal In the past some countries took over other countries and took a lot of their resources. Most of the countries who were in charge are now in the Global North and most of the countries taken over are now in the Global South. COLONISATION

Climate Change One of the Global Goals is Climate Action. This means helping to stop climate change. This one is really important because the world is warming up and the weather is changing a lot. This affects the people in the Global South the most because they can’t grow their crops.
