3. The Hong Kong Story – What is it? In this unit we will be exploring Hong Kong’s history since the 1840s. We will be investigating the history in groups by conducting a research project, visiting HK History museum and by creating a documentary video. Groups can investigate any aspect of Hong Kong history that they like.

4. Task 1 - What do you know about HK? In groups on A3 paper, you have 10 minutes to brainstorm everything you know about Hong Kong’s History. Try to include dates (guess!), important events, famous people, disasters, wars, famous buildings, different ethnic groups etc… After 10 minutes be prepared to share your ideas with the class!

5. Task 2 - Investigating HK History You now need to research any area of Hong Kong history that you like. It could be a famous event (war, disaster?); battle; person; development; ethnic group, building; area of town; trade; people; culture etc… Produce a 2-page A4 maximum information sheet to present your research.
