2 kinds of river Heb. “Nahar” – a perennial/permanent river Heb. “Nachal” – a river only after a downpour, then it dried up in Summer

Nachal– temporary river Ezekiel 47:5 (NKJV) Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed. Proverbs 18:4 (NKJV) The words of a man's mouth are deep waters; The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook.

Nachal– temporary river Psalms 78:20 (NKJV) Behold, He struck the rock, So that the waters gushed out, And the streams overflowed. Can He give bread also? Can He provide meat for His people?" Psalms 124:4 (NKJV) Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our soul;

Nahar – permanent river Psalms 46:4 (NIV) 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. Isaiah 43:19 (NIV) 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
