About Mrs. Stremmel I graduated from Millersville University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I have my Master’s Degree in Classroom Technology from Wilkes University. I am currently a third grade teacher at Hayshire Elementary in the Central York School District. During my summers off, my husband and I enjoy vacationing to warm, tropical places! I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love being a teacher!

Introduction This PowerPoint is designed as a review of what the students have been taught about their home state of Pennsylvania. The PowerPoint will review where Pennsylvania is located, states bordering PA, major PA cities, natural boundaries, and physical features. The PowerPoint will also review what the students have learned about their home county, York, Pennsylvania!

Objectives Students will name the 8 directions. Students will identify the hemisphere, continent, state, and county in which they live. Students will define the difference between physical, political and road maps. Students will name counties surrounding York.

Compass Rose A Compass Rose has 8 important directions. 4 Cardinal Directions – North, South, West, East 4 Intermediate Directions – Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, Southeast

Hemispheres The world is split into two hemispheres: the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere. We live in the Northern Hemisphere!
