Office of Non-formal and Informal Education- ONIE at a glance ONIE is the organization under the Office of Permanent Secretary offers has rights and duties to promote and provide educational services mainly focus; - on general non-formal education for various groups of learners, ex. out-of school children etc. - informal educational services for interested people,as well as other educational services for special target group, ex. disabilities, elderly, minority etc.

Community Learning Center - CLC is a subordinate unit of ONIE Tambon office or sub- district, there are 3 types of CLCs under ONIE; 1. the CLC in Tambon or sub-district, called “Kor Sor Nor Tambon” 2. the CLCs in the normal areas, called “Sor Ror Chor” and 3. the CLCs in highland or “Sor Sor Chor” CLCs in Thailand

-Used to be in schooling but not finished -Drop out -Fire Out-of School Children -No chance to get services from formal school -Minority -Rural areas -Stateless etc.

ONIE defines equivalency program as an alternative education organized for individuals who miss formal schooling. It provides a chance to learn and access to certification which is equivalent to existing formal education both general and vocational streams. Equivalency Programs

Target groups mainly are drop-out students or out-of school children and do not complete compulsory and want to receive basic education. Got primary 6 (P.6) certificate If they prefer to transfer educational result, they have to show transcripts of their studies Duration could be 2 years or less than Lower-Secondary Equivalency Program for out-of school children
