5. Here’s the news you need to know: The Astronomy Club will meet this afternoon in room 312. Boyz Noyz meets this afternoon! The middle School robotics club is Canceled for this afternoon.

6. Tonight is Student night at the Opera. The performance is Romeo and Juliet. As always we will meet at the Central library at 6:00pm. We will return will at 10:30pm.

7. The Chili Cook-Off and Basket Raffle/Silent Auction fundraiser is this Friday, February 5. There are over $3,500 dollars in prizes to raffle off or be in the silent auction. This is so cool you do not want to miss it!

8. A Capstone Group is collecting used clothing and winter attire for the homeless this Friday during the chili cook Off. Collection boxes will be set up in the cafeteria. This is a great chance to donate some of your clothes that you no longer wear. This week is a great time to go through your closets!!!

9. Friday is a big day there is a Dodge ball tournament, the Chili Cook Off and the Used Clothing drive for a Capstone Project! Make plans to attend!

10. A special thank you to Chloe Manke to initiate the Valentine card campaign. The collection box for the Valentines is in the cafeteria. Be sure to take time to send a card!

12. All Middle School SCA Representatives attending the city-wide meeting this afternoon are to report to the library immediately after school. Mr. Bone will meet you there for a study hall prior to departure. Parents are to pick you up from Plaza no later than 6:25.

13. The Middle School SCA Executive Council will meet Thursday after school in room 121A.

14. The first Box Top tally for the Spring competition is complete. Collectively you have brought in a total of 5,863 Box Tops so far. That is already $586 that will come back to our PTA. So far the current standings for grades 2-5 are:

15. In third place: Mrs. Parker’s class with 370 Box Tops. In second place Ms. Romaine’s class with 389 Box Tops And in first place is Ms. Kimbro’s class with 691 Box Tops.

16. And our current leader so far for middle school is the 7 th grade Silverback team. Way to go everyone. There are still 3 more weeks until the competition is complete. That is plenty of time for your team to win! Don’t forget to put your teacher or team name on your submission so that you all get the credit!
