7 GLAST LAT ProjectEnv Test Planning,15 March 2005 LAT System Engineering 7 Near Term Issues/Work Need to order long lead items such as TVac connectors –GSE Heaters Heater requirements are quickly being developed –1553 Port plate configuration SIIS harness will not reach all the necessary port plates –Investigate modifying harness by “breaking out” cables further from main harness. Not obvious from drawings if this is possible. When SIIS harness is delivered (March 21),an evaluation can be made. – Other possibility is to build extension cables. Not desirable since it adds more interfaces. –Harness routing Bend radius Strain relief Not using SIIS Cable implementation of 1553. –Consolidates prime and redundant via 1553 couplers –VSC needs all four 1553 penetrations through port plates

8 GLAST LAT ProjectEnv Test Planning,15 March 2005 LAT System Engineering 8 Near Term Issues/Work Facility Drawing –Port plate location relative to LAT Used to determine cable lengths inside chamber –Locate EGSE outside chamber Used to determine cable lengths outside chamber Facility power capability for EGSE Thermocouples How the thermocouples will be grouped on the LAT end is TBD. Wirelist –Work is just starting Minor issue with flyaway thermistor count –One to many sensors to fit all on 2 connectors –Need to balance need for thermistor and cable complexity
